1. There were various lists and obviously Nixon never publisized his lists

There were lists - like people he had the IRS (our tax agency) - scrutinize. In Kerry's case, he was followed by the FBI, had his phone tapped for years and Nixon's people gave the local media (which was right wing) several untrue stories that smeared him.

There was NO justification for the FBI to have followed Kerry as he never broke laws. In fact, he was the one who carefully obtained the permits needed to protest and - of course - he was invited by the Chair of the Senate committee to testify. He was very respectful - even as he strongly condemned the war - and the Senators praised him for what he did.
