(and I agree with you that media snark is a constant frustration), I AM glad that Sec. Kerry will be able to step in for President Obama. I can't think of anyone better to represent the President in this situation. We are very lucky to have him do so.

Although I was sorry to lose Kerry as a senator, I have come to see now how much his diplomatic talents are needed , for our country and for the world. He is proving to be a truly superb diplomat, one who seems bound to make a mark as one of our most creative, and effective secretaries of state. I always appreciated the depth of his experience in foreign policy, so I can't say that I'm surprised: but it's nevertheless such a pleasure to see him Show His Stuff .
(also, given the sorry state of the Senate, he must be overjoyed to be in a position where he can truly make a difference!)
