Yep, that's a good way to describe it.

Maybe he'll stay, maybe he won't. Who knows? (Personally, I believe that if he decides to run for office again, he'll do so as an Independent rather than a Democrat.)

And in so-doing (if he so-does) he'll have answered the question often heard from his most ardent supporters with regard to why so few "establishment" Dems actually bother to take him very seriously.

If he doesn't care enough to show up on time and support our party's nominee, then why should I care that he eventually decided to grudgingly come-around and give a little insincere lip-service.
