Hillary and Obama, Democratic Superduo [View all]

She is fighting to protect his legacy; and he is fighting to give her the chance to create her own.
Together, they constitute a Democratic Superduo and Donalds worst nightmare. The nations first Black president, and the nations first woman major party nominee campaigning together as the picture of the nations future, while Donald represents, and openly advocates for, a return to a past in which Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would have been denied the opportunity to lead.
There was a lot to like about their dual addresses in North Carolina, but perhaps nothing more than this: These are two people who love their country. And not in some abstract way thats easily reduced to a slogan on a bumper sticker (or a hat), but in the way that recognizes any country is made of its people. Hillary and Obama care, deeply and meaningfully, about the people in this country. And that devotion to improving the lives of people who call this country home came through, powerfully, in every word.
I was, again, moved by each of them talking about their former rivalry, their working relationship, and their eventual friendship. And by their evidently genuine enthusiasm for one another, as people and as leaders.
But no line quite got me the way this one did: When President Obama said, My faith in Hillary Clinton has always been rewarded. Yes. Yes.
