When the uninformed Hillary bashing makes you want to live in the woods. Alone. Forever. [View all]

I'm an academic, so educating myself in detail on the issues is my line of work, rather than grabbing on to talking points or cheap slogans that sound good but have no basis in reality. I sometimes try to share information with the more vocal, less informed critics. I try to be reasonable, hoping facts will make a difference. It doesn't work. People want to feel right, regardless of whether they are actually right. That's a human instinct. I get it. Being wrong in an argument feels terrible, and people will ignore any information in order to avoid that feeling.

She's going to be one of the smartest, most capable presidents we'll ever see, and yet there's so many people that are blinded by cheap headlines and ridiculous accusations they have swallowed whole. And amidst all this she's making history. But hating and feeling right feels too good to wake up to the reality of the moment.

So I don't really know what I'm saying here. Maybe I shouldn't say shit to those who hate Hillary. Maybe I shouldn't try to spread information. It feels pointless. Perhaps all there is, is to hope that enough people already know. Enough to get her elected. Right now it looks that way. That's good, because I'm burned out.
