Sanders endorses Minn., Ohio reps [View all]

I saw this tweet and wanted to know if these comments were true. I have not been able to find out about Rep. Nolan from MN and his vote on stem cell research. So, if anyone knows just add to comments. Thanks

That figures. In a trade for her superdelegate vote Bernie endorses anti-choice, anti-stem cell research candidate.

I do not know this folks--but found this:

................Abortion

Though generally perceived to be a liberal-to-progressive Democrat, Kaptur has taken generally anti-choice stances on the issue of abortion. She has voted in favor of some proposals to restrict access to abortion, while opposing some others. In January 2007, she was the only member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus to vote against federally funding stem-cell research.[28] Kaptur expressed support for the Stupak-Pitts Amendment, an amendment to America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, and voted in favor of it on November 9.[29] Kaptur was one of only sixteen Democrats to vote in favor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act on May 4, 2011.[30] Kaptur also voted in favor of banning partial-birth abortions in 2000 and 2003.[31][32] Kaptur voted against the Child Custody Protection Act in 1999 and the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act in 2005.[33][34] Kaptur voted against allowing privately funded abortions at overseas military hospitals twice in 1995, as well as 1997, 1998 and 1999.[35][36][37][38][39] In 2005, Kaptur voted in favor of lifting the ban on abortions at overseas military hospitals.[40].........................

Sanders endorses Minn., Ohio reps

By Evelyn Rupert

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders threw his support behind two Democratic lawmakers' reelection campaigns Saturday in hopes of spreading his "political revolution" throughout Congress.

In an email to supporters, Sanders endorsed Reps. Rick Nolan (Minn.) and Marcy Kaptur (Ohio).

He described Kaptur as "a leading voice to adopt fair trade policies which not only raise wages in this country, but lift living standards throughout the world. She has been fighting for a fair trade policy from the day she came to Congress." ....................

Sanders praised Nolan, who endorsed him as a Minnesota superdelegate in April, for sticking by progressive ideas in the face of a tough race. Nolan will go head-to-head again this year against Republican Stewart Mills, whom he defeated in 2014 by less than 2 points. ...............................
