Even though I need a hearing aid there are many times that activities are too loud. Even without a hearing aid such as listening to a live band or working in an assembly factory. My hearing loss is considered severe requiring the use of a phone that can increase volume by about 55 decibels.

Sometimes it is an advantage to be hearing impaired. I can turn people off if needed.
