from gov'ts posing as socialist gov't but were nothing but autocrats in disguise. They're naturally and innately distrustful of socialism because it's never what it tries to sell itself to be.

I have many, many Latino friends (hence my passion to see comprehensive immigration reform as quickly as possible - if only people knew the heartrending stories, they'd want it, too - and why I couldn't support Sanders) and they are Social Democrats in heart and soul: belief in a balanced gov't of capitalism (entrepeneurship) and socialism (good schools, unemployment, and gov't help to feed their families when they need it). They don't believe in Democratic Socialism (pure socialism). NONE are as far to the left as Sanders required them to be in order to support him. Plus...you don't dis their heroes - Delores Huerta and Cesar Chavez.
