eight or so months. We'll know for sure if this is the case (and I believe it is) when he releases his fundraising numbers for May 2016. If it mirrors his fundraising numbers of April, or is even less, then my theory that his campaign has been funded predominantly by Republicans will prove true.

I base this theory on the National Review article calling for Republicans to donate to the Sanders campaign and calling for Operation Chaos 2016. That, and at least three seasoned Republican strategists having openly admitted to supporting Sanders' campaign because they believe he was the easiest to beat in the G.E. Now that Hillary Clinton is the presumptive nominee, they're not going to throw good money after bad and most likely have already abandoned his campaign.
