He ran a horrid campaign, surpringly inept. Perhaps it is as is sometimes said--he didn't get into it to win-- and was surprised at how well he resonated. I could see that being the case, to a point.

Some of the mistakes were pretty epic though, and the scrambling to "fix" them, made him look incompetent. I blame his campaign for much of that.

He still had a chance to be an effective change agent, he must understand however, that he can only influence and not dictate policy. Hillary will be running for POTUS, and will likely win--he remains a Senator from Vermont with a strong fan base yes, but part of that same fan base led to his undoing. He needs to lose the CT, and embrace full truth.
