Barack Obama

I never thought that there would be another public figure that I'd feel was a true role model and someone that one could really look up to. So many of the icons from my long ago youth had feet of clay or were taken from us so early. Or sometimes both. Certainly I never expected someone like President Obama to come along. It's inspiring and cheering to know that there are people in the world like him, and I make no apologies for admiring one political figure. It's a good thing to have role models in the world. Good for young people to have at least one person that they can look to emulate who isn't a sports figure.

Michelle Obama may not be allowed to say it, but President Obama makes me feel proud to be an American. Not for the first time in my life, but for the first time since was just a kid who didn't know any better.
