It will still take time to digest the details and I wish I had more time to do so, but it appears that by separating out the tax question and tying further spending cuts to additional revenues the President is going to make it very painful for the Republicans and substantially undercut their basic foundation.

After all the only really popular thing that Republicans had was cutting taxes.

Now that is off the table they will have to get specific about what they want to cut.

As the President is going to tie that to future ADDITIONAL revenues he will completely outflank them on the "budget/deficit stewardship issue".

I think that there is a very good reason that Bernie voted for it and Cantor is having a meltdown.
