If the Republicans (the Koch brothers) take over in 2016 this will be a happy place again.

People will offer solutions how to make do in a new paradigm. Since they hate everything about the old one and all the people in it, their positive side will come out.

They will have good debates about how to implement civil libertarian ideology and forget the denial of civil rights that lead to income inequality. Complaints about sexism, racism and homophobia will be considered whining, as they are now.

Happier days are ahead.

The Democratic Party haters go from thread to thread with:

THE DEMOCRATS TORTURED.
THE DEMOCRATS KILLED.
THE DEMOCRATS RUINED US.
THE DEMOCRATS THIS AND THAT.

The facts don't matter. They will NOT give ground to reason or logic. I'm not buying anyone's excuses why they CANNOT LET ONE SINGLE THREAD OF GOOD NEWS OR SOLUTIONS, STAND WITHOUT THE LITANY OF ACCUSATIONS.

No more than the guys at the White House calling for Obama to be lynched, who said they wanted the lynching to be slow and painful and wanted him tarred and feathered. They guffawed about how they were trees right there to do itwith. IOW, tortured and killed along with all Democrats.

The most hateful ones never show up on those threads to condemn those who want our President dead, in gruesome fashion, they never dispute the laughter and snickering such as that video had. They save their outrage solely for Democrats.

There was a reason I didn't like HRC in the primaries. It was the things she laughed at, that were not funny and the suggestion that Obama had to pick a running mate (hint, hint - her) during the primaries, in case he was killed like RFK. She saw all of that in bloody technicolor, like many of us. What a horrible thing to bring up then, not that there weren't threats, and some of them were caught and prosecuted, too.

Now that may just have been a case of incurable foot-in-mouth, or she was actually concerned that there would be no strong Democratic candidate to run against the insane McCain and Sister Sarah. We can't forget that after RFK was murdered, the result was a Nixon presidency. Not just because of that, but largely because of that, IMO...

So when people cruise DU and make posts calling for Eric Holder to be raped anally to death over F&F, pot, banks or whatever, and others cheer them on, it changed my mind about a lot of things. Not in the way one might think. I know that Conservatives are really into talking about anal sex, they toss it into all threads. Are we to think that they are posting here?

Wishing harm is dehumanizing, the first step in that death wish. It's the same energy Rush sent out when he said that liberals should be hunted down with dogs, that none should be left alive except as living fossils and a warning to others to not go with the Democratic Party again.

Tell me, Steve, what is this place that I find myself at, after joining DU2 and having thought I would have a place to celebrate what good things could be done? To make suggestions, to encourage those who were into alternative energy, against wars, for civil rights? To talk about and expand the good Obama and the Democrats have done? And have policy discussions with people of many backgrounds, from whom I learned so much they broadened my world view and that of my fellow Americans, with all their difference lives?

I left a hostile website that had both liberals and conservatives to come here in 2010. Now I lurk there and they are nowhere near as visceral in their hatred for Democrats as this place is, daily ripping the guts out of every Democrat and everyone who dares to say anything good.

It's like a game of Mortal Kombat. Rip their spines out! KILL HIM! We are shouted down with filthy talk whenever we dare to discuss things. That's why we can't organize here. Period. I think what I posted in bold and in italics is the truth.

Time will tell.
