My brother is the same. Right wing all the way. Listens to all the hate jocks, watches Faux News, and loves to spout off on political topics to prove how smart and well informed he is.

Years ago, I had had enough of his right wing crap, and I told him I thought he needed to go see his doctor. He asked why. I told him to have tests run for a brain tumor, because surely no one could be that stupid and gullible without a blockage of some sort in their brain.

He was a bit dumbfounded.

Then I told him he should be smart enough to check the facts before he repeats things, because there's always someone out there who knows better, and it really does make him look like a simpleton to be repeating things that simply are not true.

I felt better after I'd said that. He didn't talk politics anywhere near as much after that.

It is completely frustrating and maddening to have to listen to lies and crap spewed as the truth at every family gathering. Sending good thoughts your way, try not to let your sister get to you, which I know is easier said than done. Obviously, you have LOTS of company, and we can all form a support group if need be!
