GOP Rep Suggests Obamacare Delay A ‘Favor’ for Obama, Derisively Laughed At By ABC Panel [View all]
One of the youngest members of Congress was on ABC News today and perhaps naively thought that he could put one past the others who were on the show with him discussing Obamacare.33-year-old Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), a Tea Party darling, had the audacity to suggest that delaying Obamacare for a year would be doing President Obama a ‘favor’. As if delaying access to health care for millions of Americans who have been waiting to get coverage for their pre-existing conditions would qualify as such, should President Obama ever agree to something like that.
ABC host George Stephanopolous told Amash that President Obama has stated that he was not willing to let Republicans hold the debt ceiling hostage in order to defund his health care reform law.
Here is what Amash said in response:
We’re willing to compromise and part of that compromise means that when you want to borrow more money, you’re going to have to have some cuts in government. And that’s all Republicans are asking for. And we’re not talking about draconian cuts
