2. Are iPad much more fragile than laptops? I'm thinking the glass would break.

Eventually, I will break down and buy one.

I put my laptop in an air travel sheath, a tailored and cushioned bag, very snug. And put it in the webbing inside my backpack so it's got more padding.

Is that not enough?
