At some point you realize that many of your programs and websites are no longer "compatible" with your computer.
Used to be that Mac would weather all these. I remember PCers would go from 286 to 386 to 486 every year and I felt secure in my old Mac SE (before logging into the Wide World Web became routine). No longer.
Sigh.

I tried to update a while back and got screwed. I tossed it out and kept with my *very* old version.

Make sure that you set it in your Firefox preferences to not automatically upgrade.

I got hung up a long time ago and stopped upgrading. It was just too much to do at that time.

Firefox is a mess. I use Safari 95% of the time. Chrome only when I absolutely need Flash.

Thanks, I'll open up Safari and try it there. I can put things in iTunes and drag to the desktop

Does it help with problems like losing bookmarks, font and text colors, add-ons, etc?

But the repairing permissions is simply unlocking the lock and giving the password, right?

I don't feel comfortable doing anything to the hd. I might ask for a verify, but I thought repairing
