3. Have you tried using HP's Support Assistant (it has an option to fix device problems)?

I also have an HP Envy older than your version. We have used the built in camera to attend public hearings by the Hawaii County Board of Commissioners without any problem. So, you might try to use the HP Support Assistant to test your camera and repair the driver if there is a problem with connectivity. Perhaps check your USB port too as a way to make sure it works as well (plug in a wired mouse or something to test it).

You might also check your security software to make sure there are no problems with the firewall and access. As a more drastic step, you can also use System Recovery in Windows to reinstall the operating system or parts of it (make sure to back up your files).
