congrats on the sofa upgrade. I am afraid I cannot offer advice on the scotch guard as I don't know about it. If you want to try it out do so on a small area where it will not show. Hope the cats do as you say and not harm it. I have no pets so our recent furniture upgrade La Z Boy sofas and chairs was not made with that in mind.

Nevertheless hope it all goes well and you get great service and comfort from the sofa.
