I'm nor aware of any modern monarch who has absolute powers. They all have Constitutions and Parliament s(some with two houses, some with one) and Prime Ministers who have the real power. Absolute leaders don't even want to call themselves kings any more - they use other titles. (That's true even in dystopian literature. Look at "Big Brother" in 1984) Yes, that's how much influence we have had on the world - when we were able to keep the Republic.
