2. There is no majority in parliament to enact the result of any such referendum if it happened.

Hell, there's no majority in parliament to pass the legislation for a referendum in the first place.

There's been a change of prime minister, and Johnson has no mandate. That alone is justification for an election, never mind how recent the last one was.
