I relatively recently found out, thru Ancestry.com, that most of my maternal grandmother's family were born and raised in Canada, except for her. Her parents, both her siblings, her grandparents and further back. Her father's occupation in census records is listed as farmer, and the speculation is that the family may have moved about seasonally helping with harvests.

I wish I knew more about this. She was born in 1894, so there's no one left to ask.

I also wish I could claim Canadian citizenship.
