most of his responses are the result of him reading the tealeaves as to how enraged Canadians, including Ontarians, are about this. He has been sidling up to trump prior to the imposition of tariffs as well as this despicable garbage about a "51st state".

The tariffs being imposed by trump hurt Ontario a great deal, the auto industry is a very large part of it's economy so it has been in Ford's best political interest to come out strongly against all of this.

One thing to note is that at the time of Ford's 'decisions' regarding the tariffs and the '51st state' garbage, he was in the middle of an Provincial election so one could question whether his strong position was due to that election or is actually being done for the right reasons.

Sadly, he won that election and will be Premier for the third time and will, no doubt, be supporting the Conservative party and that could very well put them into the governing party, VERY bad news for us.
