Pike Brewing to close locations near Pike Pike Market amid financial pressures [View all]

Pike Brewing Co. will close its Pike Pub near Pike Place Market on Nov. 30 after three decades. Pike Fish Bar, which shares the space at 1415 First Ave., will also be shuttered.

The closures come amid mounting financial difficulties, the company said.

"This is the worst of all possible outcomes but you have to admit defeat when there's no other option," Pike Brewing CEO Matt Lincecum told the Business Journal. "We're going to adjust, retool and do what we need to do to operate for another 30 years."

Brewery operations in Ballard will continue. Its lone remaining public-facing location, the Pike Taproom Summit at the Seattle Convention Center, will stay open "for now," Lincecum said.
