I have lived in Stillwater and OKC. My partner of almost 10 years is from OKC, always lived there...until he met me!
I have lived all over the country. This last move was my 20th (I think). I have lived in 12 states in my 42 years. There are some things I love (my partner being one), but there are some things I absolutely hate: the weather and the damn toll roads! I love the OKC and Tulsa zoos, I am a member of Tulsa's. It was interesting to see Fall this year...Southern States don't have much of a Fall usually. It's hot, then it's cold. New Orleans seemed like that most of the time. I miss NOLA, but things are sooooo much cheaper here and that is quite helpful.
I will say, since we have moved back I have been surprised by more liberals "coming out." Some of the articles I have read in the Tulsa World are actual "real" real liberal, not "Okie" liberal. That's been a nice change. Even some of the news programs are more open than I remember, not NOLA open, but for Oklahoma, it really is a big improvement and very nice to see.
