Documents state that at 7:28 p.m., Heyde called Moberly Police to report shots fired at his residence on Logan Street.
Moberly Police said that during the call, Heyde said he had shot a woman on his front porch and that she was dead.
Talking to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, Heyde said that, around 4 pm to 5 pm, he had seen a woman that he did not know walking down the street and around a nearby unoccupied house.
He said the woman had been acting suspiciously.
The documents state that Heyde said the woman came onto his porch but left before he could get to the door.
Heyde said the woman, identified as Bailey Scott, 23, then came back to his porch.
The documents state that Heyde went to the door with his .32 caliber Kel-Tec handgun behind his back.
He said that Scott became agitated, talking about him feeding and trying to kill birds on his property.
He said he asked her to leave, gesturing with his right hand.
Heyde said Scott then hit him in the face.
That was when he said he fired his gun twice.
The trooper said there were no visible marks, bruising, or swelling on Heydes face, nor trauma or injury on Scotts hand.
