3. I may be mistaken, but I think this guy tried to resign just before the Ethics Committee released

its report after investigating the allegations against him ( by his adult children ) since January. In other words, he was trying to kill the report as there would be no reason to release it if he was no longer a legislator.

The Repubs, surprisingly, said "No way. We won't let you 'escape!' "
