I don't understand why endorsement is so important [View all]

Why can’t voters go to the polls, or mail their ballots and cast their votes for their preferred candidates.

Why can’t voters do their homework to study where their candidates stand on issues that are important to them. Or to compromise on other issues. I think that party endorsements are making disservice to voters.

In 2022 the DFL endorsed Mary Moriarty for county attorney and many thought that her opponent, Martha Holton Dimick was a Republican.

Endorsements can be nice but should not be sole guidance for voters on how to cast their votes.
