4. Running for office is like running a marthon or an Ironman

It's utterly brutal, but there are some who really seem to be addicted to the challenge.

In my estimation, the two best *campaigners* of my lifetime were Reagan and Clinton. They *LOVED* the process. Obama was good at it, Trump was/is addicted to the applause and adulation, but Clinton and Reagan probably would have ran a third time if it was possible, for the same reason my 78 year old neighbor is trying to shave time off his next triathalon.

Plus, it's long been said that the Senate is the most exclusive club in the land, if not the world; hard to give that up even for rich and powerful people.
