I did not see the spider until I started processing the image; specifically, until I cropped in to achieve a desired 1:1 composition, with the center of the web in the lower left corner of the square. This discovery sure makes me happy that I was able to retrieve my lens cap from the extremely wet grass (heavy dew) without disturbing the spider or the web.
