I heard the Brahms Second Piano Concerto. (later the first, IIRC)
I never saw such energy.
Technique and sensitivity were mighty damn good, too.
For a while, I thought that the only pianists being promoted were all just trying to play faster and louder. Won't mention any names!
I blame Liszt.
