I want to make sure this is something I will remain serious about before getting another streaming service.
(I'm on a pretty limited income, as an educator! Haha!)
Anyway, today is the last day of spring break, so my anime time is going to be pretty limited for a while.
But, I need some advice: I'm about to start the Chimera Ant arc of HunterxHunter and I'd appreciate your opinion as to whether you think I can handle it or not. I am able to handle violence/gore to a point. It's more the emotions that get to me. I am really sensitive to the following: Violence to animals. (I can't stress that one enough). Violence that is intended to be a cheap shot to the emotions - like, "Let's kill this loveable character to break the audience's heart" kind of thing. Characters that are introduced, given just enough time to become "important" and then killed. Why did I waste my time and emotion on them?
The death of a major character is not a deal-breaker, but it can't come over as manipulative or meaningless. I don't really care if the body count is high if we're just talking like the gunsels in the Mafia arc. I don't like it, but I can tolerate it, if that makes sense.
I also don't care about spoilers. What I care about is a story well-told. Knowing the end, or who dies and who lives doesn't ruin anything for me. I'd rather be prepared than unprepared.
So, what do you think? I promise not to be mad at you, no matter what you tell me!
