Just got clobbered with unexpected snow [View all]

The local forecasts called for snow early today, and light snow showers through the afternoon, 1-3" total. I walked the grand dogs around 1, and even at the higher elevation, the roads and ground was clear. Picked up the kids, took them for lessons. The roads were clear, no snow. I picked them up around 4, and there were flurries. One more stop and by the time we got there, there was probably 2" on the ground, in less than 20 minutes. By the time we left for home, it was close to blizzard conditions. Lots of hills, so we came to my house. I'd say there is 4" on the ground. The kids shoveled my walk and steps for me and salted it all. My daughter got them, waiting to hear that they got home.

One of my grandkids checked their weather app while I was driving and it said 'light rain' at the time we were driving. Whoever made this forecast missed it by a mile. We would have made different arrangements if we'd known.

This is the first time I've driven this car in snow. It did okay, but we slid several times, even on the level roads. I bet I scared a few oncoming drivers. I know how I felt!!!!
