was destroyed somewhere around 1538, during Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries period. The land was used for various other things since then, to today, when an office building and parking garage now sit on the site. It was during the prepping of the site that Richards body was discovered. As per rules in the u.k., as I understand them, the site was shut down for a time so archeologists could investigate it.
