The MOST RIDICULOUS (and sadly true & accurate) "solution" I have EVER GOTTEN from my bank. [View all]

A couple of months ago, my debit card got hacked. Saw a $19.80 charge from "TikTok Promotions" I have never used TikTok and especially have never used "TikTokPromotions."

Got the replacement card, updated all of my online billing, and IMMEDIATELY went to online banking and set text AND email alerts for ANY charges over $20.

Worked like a charm A couple of weeks ago, the alerts ground to a halt.

Called customer service.

She said she didn't see that alert turned on. I told her I didn't turn it off. She said "We had a recent updated that might have turned it off, so go in, turn it back on, and keep an eye on it."

I said "If I am going to keep an eye on it, what good is the alert doing me?"

Got a southern hospitality shrug of the shoulders and that was the end of the call.

In other words, "SH*T HAPPENS."
