My sister lost like ?90% of her hearing in one ear out of nowhere like ?2 yrs ago.
She was lucky enough to be able to afford a bunch of good doctors.

All they could do after a battery of tests was a special hearing aid that "throws" audio into the damaged ear (if I have that right); so she has a more balanced aural experience.
Now this is a guess - she might have a piece in her good ear, it picks up the sounds there and it radio signals that to another piece in her damaged ear. Idk! 😄 I should get a clear idea on that.

Oh, and Prednisone has a potential side effect of anxiety?
