3. While Cassidy deserves some blame for her role in things, I'm inclined to cut her some slack.

She was a young woman suddenly embroiled in a nexus of power most of us don't even dream of. She had been born and indoctrinated into this world and believed in it totally. It takes courage and self-awareness to realize that your heroes and mentors are the opposite of what you always thought. And she came forward, in a very hostile environment, alienating all of her previous friends and allies, to tell what she had realized. She may not be one of us -- she may never be -- but she has done what none of the members of Congress who privately grouse that Trump is crazy, what none of the other prominent Republicans who actually have support staffs and media bullhorns have dared to say publicly, that the man is batshit insane. Yeah we all knew that in 2016 (hell I knew it in the 1980's) but we weren't raised in the brainwasher that Cassidy was. Give the girl some credit. She has risked everything that ever meant anything to her to tell the truth, and that's not a thing to dismiss lightly. Give her a few years and she might even have a few more epiphanies about the relationships between the people who raised her and the rest of us. Nobody is beyond hope.
