Dem Mayor In Illinois Orders Flags At Full Staff Defying President's Charlie Kirk Proclamation [View all]

OH, if only ALL Dem mayors had the courage to do this---
PS--should be been across the entire USA!!

Charlie Kirk was someone who preached hate, misogyny, and racism under the guise of religion.
For a country that was founded on uniting the colonists against hatred, this is not someone the US or its founders should be proud of.

Aurora’s Democratic Mayor John Laesch is under fire after ordering all city flags to be flown at full staff, defying official proclamations from both President Donald Trump and Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to lower them to half-staff.

The directives were issued in memory of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, who was assassinated during a “Prove Me Wrong” event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday...................

President Trump had ordered flags to be flown at half-staff through sunset on September 14 to honor Kirk. Governor Pritzker issued a similar proclamation, though he worded it to honor “victims of political violence,” without explicitly naming Kirk.

In a statement to local media, Mayor Laesch defended his decision by focusing on the sanctity of lowering the flag for specific events. “Our focus was on remembering the lives lost on September 11th,” he said, referencing the recent 24th anniversary. “Lowering the flag is a solemn act that carries great weight. The choice to do so should not be made cavalierly. Doing so diminishes the importance of the remembrance of tragedies like September 11, 2001.”.........................
