No way in hell could the Chinese beat the Japanese on their own.
Please note the Burma hump flights were horrifically dangerous.
No maps, high altitude, dangerous mountain flights.
And the enemy shooting at you.

From AI:

The "Hump" flights, officially known as the China-Burma-India (CBI) Theater air transport effort, were helping Allied forces in China and the broader effort to combat the Japanese military during World War II. After the Japanese cut off the vital Burma Road, the perilous airlift over the Himalayas provided the only way to resupply Chinese soldiers, including those under Chiang Kai-shek, and any American forces based in China with crucial gasoline, food, ammunition, and other supplies.
