2. The Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas

a couple of weeks ago seemed well attended. That's mostly people from the US though. The areas that you walk by that are usually stuffed with people gambling seemed pretty empty though. I went to Chef Andrés' restaurant, China Poblano, and it had a good crowd, several tables seemed to be from France, they didn't have the Québécois accent, and I heard German being spoken. The Cosmopolitan where the restaurant was, and especially the sidewalks outside had very few people. It was 110° foreignheit but that hasn't stopped people before.
