presumably to encourage US manufacturers to produce them here, but he's demanding that they reduce their prices, so without the income they need to do it, how are they going to be able to create that manufacturing capability? I'm certainly no fan of PHARMA, and some drugs are insanely overpriced, but this seems weapons-grade stupid to me.

I'd also note that if a Democratic president started trying to place such sweeping price controls on private companies the GOP would shit its collective Underoos.
