we've lost at least two restaurants that I know of... both were heavily used by us. Not being able to raise prices high enough to retain customers (as well as profits) is what did them in. Interestingly, neither of the two I know about stuck to that 60 day notice rule for employees. One day the employees went in to work to find the doors locked and a small handwritten note about being out of business.
Now, I hate losing businesses... especially restaurants... in this little city. I can't drive in to Kansas City to make purchases like I did when I was younger. But that's just my hardship. I'm getting really p'o'd at the management of these businesses who think no more of their employees than they do of their customers. A lost job in this burg is no small thing. There aren't any openings around here to take up the slack. So, in addition to the shock value of a written note on the door of the restaurant, there's the adrenalin rush of what the hell do they do next?
Tariffs are still being fought over in the courts and throughout the WH, but already the consequences are being felt all over the United States. May the demented evil one meet a horrible demise... and soon... for all the evil and pain he has unleashed!
