2. Public opinion was manufactured to create the image that use of single party power is "political"

Democrats' defense to the critics within their own party for not breaking the filibuster to pack the court and thus gain rulings which would have saved Roe, overturned the immunity ruling, overturned Citizens United and expidited Trump's criminal trials was that doing so would have "looked political," which was an opinion manufactured by the media. And while Trump's favorability ratings and job approval ratings fall below his previous record lows, Democrats in Congress sit at 26% and at least some of that is because they tied their actions to the public opinion created by the media. So it is that a guy indicted 92 different times for major crimes is not only walking around free, but is in the White House as the President. It's not "bothsideism" to put some of the blame on Democrats for letting the media zap some of the boldness they could have taken to stop Trump for good.
