Politically speaking, you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube. The more damage the current regime does to our Constitutional system, the less chance of being able to return to it. If the Trump/Musk administration is able to persist in its wrecking-ball approach to the Constitution, it becomes more likely that whatever succeeds it — however long that may take — will not be a return to Constitutional business-as-usual, but will be an equivalent dictatorship, but this time from the left.
