The Cleveland franchise in the American League wasn't called the Indians until 1915. (That might've ben a tribute to Louis Sockalexis, a Penobscot who played for the National League's Cleveland Spiders in 1897-99 and died in 1913.)
Before they were the Indians, they were the Blues for one season, then the Napoleons (for Napoleon "Nap" Lajoie, one of baseball's best hitters) and then just the Naps.
