In reply to the discussion: 'Humbly, I'm sorry': Marjorie Taylor Greene says she's turning a new leaf after years of divisive comments [View all]ShazzieB
(21,960 posts)The first was, "Did hell just freeze over and nobody told me about it?" Quickly followed by "Is this the Onion?"
Then I read the article, and all I can say is that while I absolutely do not believe she's suddenly a changed person, I do find it credible that combination of Charlie Kirk's death, followed by Trump's vicious attacks on her could have made an impression on her that has led her to view certain things in a slightly different way. Imo, that is a good thing, even if it doesn't last long. Time will tell how deep this actually goes, and I don't trust her any more than I would trust the snake in that story Schlump loves to tell about the woman getting bitten by a snake she rescued. Still, if she manages to soften her rhetoric even a little, even temporarily, I'll take it.
P.S. I agree that she owes personal apologies to a fuckton of people who will probably never receive them, as some have noted, and that sucks. But if she can manage to behave just a little bit better going forward, I'm willing to call it a net win for the side of sanity and civility. Just how much of a win will depend on how much better her behavior is and how long the improvement lasts.
