4. I went to school a long time ago and connot recall any mention of all the racial dynamics that were going on then.

What I found utterly fascinating, was what seemed to be the integration of Native Americans immigrants and free Blacks into the communities. I also was not aware of how long the revolution lasted, and how ill-conceived British strategies were to suppress the colonists. Kind of reminds me of Russia and Ukraine.
