This is why we’re invading Venezuela; Orinoco Belt is the largest petroleum reserve on the planet, and rare earth mineral Coltan (used in phones, military equipment, etc) is something that the present administration badly wants.

Drug war and cartels are a smoke screen, a distraction away from the natural resources grab.
