ICE is scouting out locations to set up operations in my small Oregon town. [View all]

I live in Newport, on the coast. It's a small tourist and fishing town on the Oregon coast. We have a lot of immigrants that are recruited from Guatemala to work in a big fish processing plant. Their children are well established in our local schools. The work is very hard physically, and the company houses some of them in dorm-style lodgings.

A couple of days ago, some mystery group approached the city about taking over part of our airport to set up a concentration camp. City council had a town hall on it tonite. I couldn't make it, but apparently it was packed.

This afternoon, a truck full of yeehaws was cruising all through town with big flags, including a large black flag, which I guess is one of the militia groups. They've also started recruiting for ICE jobs. Every Nazi tweaker in the region -- we have lots of Methros -- will now get the best paying jobs on the coast.

Feel like I've been punched in the gut that it could happen here.
