(1,230 posts)All I can say is I am honored to have lived during the best years this country has ever seen. When I was a kid in the 60's and 70, no one locked their car up, nor their front doors. Watching and experiencing improvements in technology and medicine has been astounding. Remember rotary phones? Hell. I would leave every day in the summer and never returned til supper. I lived in a small town then.
If you compare those days, to our current situation, there is no comparison. NONE! This country has done a 180, and I personally don't see it getting much better for the next decade. I may still be here then. Who knows. Trump will do what he can to destroy democracy and make fascism our choice of governing.
I wake up every day, thankful I'm still here, and still have hope we will survive.
God help us all.
